The forecast last night wasn't for frost, but this morning the thermometer on our back porch showed two degrees above freezing, and there was frost on the grass for the first time when I walked on Mont-Royal. That meant bringing the plants in quickly as soon as I got back, even though I'd hoped to do a little more pre-plant work inside. They're all installed in windows now, and even though one of the hisbiscus is looking a little sad, I'm hoping that's only temporary.But fall weather means harvest and the Jean Talon market is full of the fruit of the summer's labours right now. Where would we be without peppers and garlic! It is a grand pleasure to shop there.
