Another Index of Climate Change: No Snow by Nov. 8

In the 45 years I've lived in Montreal, there has always been snow before Nov. 8 and the leaves have been swept from the trees.

Not so this year, which leads me to believe that all those Climate Change deniers have got it all wrong. (As if I didn't already think that!)

So if there's a record snow storm later this year, does that mean that the 'warmists' have got it wrong?
There's a big difference between climats and weather.

Indeed there's a big difference between weather and climate. The former is what happens day to day, and climate deals with the bigger, frequently long term picture. The Nov. 8 benchmark would fall into the latter category.

However, I've just had a report of a few, isolated flurries in downtown Montreal, so maybe the benchmark may hold.

There were some wet snowflakes on the 11th - heard there was a bit of wet snow during the Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa, so no surprise we got it a few hours later.

Here is a much scarier record: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/11/131108-supertyphoon-haiyan-yolanda-atmosphere-climate-change/ Not only huge, but after typhoon season.

I loathe snow and cold (really suffer from arthritic pain) but even ours is worrying in a broader framework.
