The Annals of Climate Change: Air Conditioning Feels Good

Quote of the day: "After each heat wave you experience without air conditioning, you automatically add fifty years to your age." From Anne Chudobiak. So what does that make me? Pushing the millennium mark? Glad to retreat to AC this afternoon, even though the morning was lovely.

Ye gawds, we didn't even have indoor plumbing until I was in highschool.

And life was nasty, brutish and short?

There are adverse effects to being forced to work through hot weather, and Harry Lee, the philosopher king of Singapore, always contended that his island nation's economic growth would not have been possible without AC.

But how that plays out in the current world where AC has ripple effects because it takes energy and energy production is so costly in enironmental and other terms.
